I am a stocker at a major retail grocery outlet. I have been experiencing a lot of pain in my lower back and I am afraid that I received an injury on the job. Of course, I have not helped myself recover and this weekend when I went jet skiing I think I really injured it. Have I already lost my case because my extracurricular activities are rather jarring? The Stone of Alexandria, by Lleu Christopher, is an oddly compelling novel that is part urban fantasy, part suspense and part metaphysical speculation about other worlds and reincarnation. It’s a complicted tale that takes place in Atlantis, ancient Alexandria and modern New York and L.A. So it’s not a typical urban fantasy, if there even is such a thing, but it does have elements common to that genre, such as a hero who falls into a magical world, faerie creatures, battling wizards and, of course a magical stone.
