In my opinion, there really is nothing better than to be commemorated by a coin that will be passed down from generation to generation.  It may even be an object that is discovered by our kind hundreds or even thousands of years from now.  That is the power of being commemorated in a minted coin.  That is why I am so very proud to own a Edmund Hillary gold coin that is minted and is an actual legal tender from the government of New Zealand, the great man’s home country.  This kind of remembrance of a great person will cause future generations to want to find out why we commemorated him so.
