My local library has a lot of self-help and instructional type videos in their dvd collection.  I haven’t checked it out yet, but it would be nice if they would have a learn guitar dvd for patrons to rent with their library card.  Playing the guitar seems to be growing rapidly in popularity so I am sure there are some good dvd lessons out there.  I think this would be a popular addition to the library, and I am guessing that there would even be a long waiting list for such a video.  Hopefully they could find a collection so that people could learn a lesson and then move on to the next dvd in the series.

I have taken on the challenge of learning how to play the electric guitar.  I must say that it hasn’t been the smoothest ride, but it has been a fun journey.  I started off not knowing even how to hold a guitar, let along play one.  Since that time I have learned quite a bit and am now ready to show some of my friends what I have been learning.  They all think that I have this big time tutor or something, when really I have just been using the riff master pro.  Hopefully they will be as impressed as I have been of the program.

My husbands most recent job was to go out on the beach and attempt to get a purple sunset. The purple sunset was not really the problem, because you get at least one of those a week. He had to aim to get a little of the water in it and add a little of the rock on the side. He loved these types of challenges because when he was able to do it it made him feel like the best of the Orange County photographers. He has actually gotten to put his work into a show at the local gallery and sold all, but one of the pictures.

Some people think that country music is a bit corny the first few times they hear it. When they listen to it longer and with more patience however it always tends to grow on them. The thing about Country Artists is that they are not like most other types of artists in that they are very passionate about keeping everything natural, real, and full of spirit. When I had a little cell phone accessory shop in the local mall, I used to sell cell phone jewellery charms for cell phones.  These little charms were one of my top sellers.  People love to decorate their cell phones to make them their own and suit their styles.   I wish I still had my store, but it was time for me to retire and hand it over to my daughter who runs it very well and she still sells a lot of cell phone charms.  She is due to expand the business in the Spring.  She is trying to recruit me to help with the renovation.  I told her I am retired, but I may just have to give her a little helping hand.

I was watching a movie called sister act the other day with Whoopi Goldberg. In this show they were in a catholic all girls school and Whoopi Goldberg brought a sense of fun and music to the school’s quire. What really inspired me was the Rap Music at the end of the show where they did a rap about god and truly brought religion out of the mundane place most of these kids saw it as and made it fun, exciting, and modern so to speak. Rap has this kind of flavor and ability to inspire people. It’s fun and exciting, and educational.
