Is being cheap a good trait

August 27th, 2008 . by admin

I grew up thinking that being cheap was not a good trait. Things have changed since then, and with the economy being the way it is, being retired and having free time means that we choose activities that are not free. Because we have more time, we like to spend part of it traveling, seeing locations that have always called to us - our imaginations and our sense of adventure and desire to learn more. When we decided to go to Rome, we knew that we wanted to choose from the cheap Rome hotels in order to ensure we had the funds to pursue our quest.

So Many Phases, So Little Time

August 26th, 2008 . by admin

As a girl I went through an English phase, Egyptian phase, and a Spanish phase.

Each new obsession required a new decorating scheme for my bedroom as well as appropriate accessories.

I think the Spanish period was my favorite because I’d managed to find or make signs and posters for my door.

One featured a handsome matador and read, “Ole!”, while another simply stated “Spain Hotels“. That poster had some glorious scenery in the background as well.

These days the only phase I’m involved in is the “Mom” phase, and the only sign is my kitchen blackboard which currently reads, “Dentist - 3:00 p.m”.

Going on a cheap beach vacation

August 24th, 2008 . by admin

After a stressful year i like to go on a holiday at least once a year. If i don’t i have brain meltdown. What i really like to do is go on a cheap beach vacation. I usually stick to intercontinental flights in the U.S. if i’m in budget mode. But you still have to remember that a lot of US beach locations have national or international reputations, which means the price of everything there will be considerably higher. So i’d be sure to check that there is another beach resort within 10 miles up the coast that has a much lower price but offers the same facilities.

Bali Private Villas

August 20th, 2008 . by admin

I am very excited to begin travelling with my husband. We will be heading to Bali and have been researching many Bali private villas. Although we have not been able to travel very much, we have found a lot of information on the internet about the villas available. Many of the private villas in Bali are very luxurious, and I can’t wait to get there and see how beautiful the area is in person. I am so glad to find so many choices, and I know we will have a great time on our vacation. Renting a private villa in Bali is certainly better than a regular hotel.

Scuba Diving on Sanibel Island is the Best.

August 15th, 2008 . by admin

I have been scuba diving in a lot of places in my life time. I would have to say that my favorite has to be Sanibel Island scuba diving. This Florida Island is unbelievably beautiful and the water is awesome. You can see all of the different marine life in all their splendor and then dress up and go out for a night out on the island. It is one place that I think everyone should visit once in their lifetimes even if they don’t scuba dive. So if you are looking to get away to a relaxing and gorgeous place then go to Sanibel Island.

Family Getaway

August 6th, 2008 . by admin

My family loves to go on trips, especially European. One of our favorite places to go is Greece.

There are many wonderful sites to see. We try to find the lowest hotel rates in Athens Greece, and the cheapest flights. After all, we don’t have unlimited funds. We are just your typical American family, living off of an average salary.

We have to save all year long in order to afford our vacations. Seeing the world is very important, but it should not cost an arm and a leg. If all of the money goes toward accommodations there would be nothing left to spend on souvenirs!

So now I have a list of rewards that I am considering to have converted.

Washington, DC - escourted tours

August 4th, 2008 . by admin

When I was visiting Washington, DC, I decided that I wanted to take a tour of all of the United States monuments. Initially I was going to drive myself around, but I realized that if I took one of the escorted tours then I could concentrate on where we were going, not where I was driving. I also liked the idea that I wouldn’t really have to read the information from the brochures, but could listen to someone talk about it instead. I think the only thing that I did not like about the tour was that we were on a time limit everywhere we went and I couldn’t really stop and enjoy what I wanted.
