Stephanie graduated from college three years ago and since her freshman year in college, she never stopping drinking in an excessive manner.  In fact, over the past six to ten months, she has begun drinking far more than she ever has at any point in her life.  Her boyfriend, Manny, had a heart-to-heart talk with her about her drinking and he said that based on what he had learned in his college health class, she is starting to exhibit some of the classic alcoholism warning signs.  He expressed his care for her and told her that it would mean the world to him if she made an appointment with her physician so that she could discuss her drinking with him.  Stephanie was so moved by this that she immediately called her doctor and made an appointment to see him later in the week.
