I Have Found A Lot of Help for My Anxiety Online at Panic Attack Help Guide
January 19th, 2008 . by adminDoes anybody else have this problem? You are lying in bed, there is no chance of getting to sleep for the next couple of hours and your mind is racing at the prospect of having to go to work tomorrow on 2 hours sleep, if you are lucky. The minutes tick by – 2am becomes 3am, the bed feels more and more uncomfortable, and then the palpitations begin. Once the chest pains start in I know there is little I can do to stop a panic attack. The only thing I have found that works in this situation is to use a technique I saw in Panic Attack Help Guide – to focus on the present and not think about the future. I try to blank out how many short hours it is until I have to get up, what I have to do when I do drag myself out of bed. Instead I lay flat on my back, uncrossing my legs and arms and try to breath in a very VERY controlled manner, slowly, deeply, even to the point of trying to enjoy the sensations of my lungs filling with clean air. I don’t know what causes a panic attack in me, surely it is not simply brought on by my desperation to sleep. But this works for me, so maybe it ill for others too
