Are homemade soaps better?
October 9th, 2009 . by adminI guess it’s part of the green movement, but I’ve been hearing alot lately about the benefits of using homemade soaps instead of the stuff that you buy at the grocery store. The arguments that I’ve read seem to be pretty compelling, especially if you consider all of the reasons to buy local and such. The thing that really surprised me is that homemade soaps contain much more glycerin - which is great to help moisturize your skin. Commercial soaps as I understand it are mostly devoid of glycerin because the manufacturers extract it and sell it off to other folks. That more than anything else is a good enough reason to make the switch.
