What Would Thanksgiving Be Without Them?

February 14th, 2009 . by admin

Traditions are important.  If a practiced has not passed the test of time, it cannot be a tradition.  A preference is not the same as a tradition.  Traditions are not made to be broken, they have an existence all their own.  This is the case for a fine sweet potatoes recipe.  Truly, there would be no Thanksgiving dinner without sweet potatoes.  Squash is fine, mashed potatoes are great, have all the vegetables you want, but there must be sweet potatoes as well.  The potatoes would be cooked on the stove first, sliced, topped with melted butter and brown sugar and then baked for about fifty minutes.
