This semester has really been taxing for me. Apart from the work load, my friends mum got really sick and she could not go to work. My friend was really stressed out as she thought of dropping out of school to take care of her mother. Unfortunately, her mum passed away. It was a very difficult time for her. Her dad had left while she was young. Most of her relatives were not willing to help her out although they were well of. She decided that she was not going to quit school. This was her only shot at improving and making her life better. She decided to apply for a scholarship from the schools boards. They usually gave scholarships for needy students who were performing well. Her grades were really good so she would definitely make the cut for a scholarship. She however had other needs like paying the rent. The first thing to do was to move out to a smaller apartment and this time near school. She also had the option of moving to a hostel near school as it would be more convenient. We decided to go check out the prices of the different hostels near the campus. Some were really good and some left a lot to be desired. The one she particularly liked had a library where people could go study. One of the ways she could pay for this would be using social security benefits. We however found out that she was not eligible for a social security benefit. She thus needed someone to help her. Her grandparents were willing to chip in to pay for her hostel fee. She said that she would do whatever it takes so she can finish school.
