When you visit the Asa Waters Mansion you will be taking a step back in time.  A time when homes were built to be showcases, to entertain and to live.  In this instance it was also built to provide shelter to those traveling on the “Underground Railroad”.When making your Massachusetts vacation plans you may want to visit the central part of the state and take a tour of this magnificent home.  The mansion was built by Asa Waters to provide a home of outstanding beauty for his wife, Susan Holman Waters.  It was the location for visitors such as Daniel Webster, Henry Clay, President William Howard Taft, Alexander Graham Bell and many others over the years to spend some time.The Waters boys were the “First Family of Asa Manufacturers” and revolutionized gun-making by changing it from an artisan’s craft to a manufacturing process.
