Photo ID systems are used to identify an individual from that person’s image.  There are many countries which require Photo Id Systems to be incorporated in their citizen’s database. There is also the increasing tendency to use other information such as fingerprints, eye scans, and DNA samples to identify any particular individual.  This increase in security considerations is a direct result of 9/11 terrorist attack on New York and Washington.  I sincerely hope that one day things will more relaxed so we need not rely on formal documentation to determine your identity.
