Alighting control console is used in theatrical lighting to control multiple lights at once. It is also known as a light board lighting board or lighting desk. The most common protocol are the DMX lighting boards as they are capable of connecting and controlling all attachments built to the DMX standard. Boards vary in size based upon need. Controllers for the DMX boards are more often than not PC based. Software is available to insure the interface between the lighting boards and the DMX attachments have a proper interface. The software can be purchased or is even available through the shareware channels.
