When we left the city and moved to the country we found that we could no longer get our familiar cable stations.  In fact we could not get any stations at all.  TV signals just did not go around or over the mountains that surrounded us.  At first we found this to be a pleasant change but after a few weeks we began to realize how much our lives had been tied to the television.  We were able to retie those binds with satellite-tv.  Now we get all the channels we once received on cable and a few more thrown in from around the world.
